DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- Santa Claus will arrive at Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville this weekend, and he has some pretty amazing tricks up his sleeve.

Shoppers can now use a special "Santa App" that will allow children to write letters to Santa, receive replies, take a sneak peek into his North Pole workshop and even track his flight across the globe on Christmas Eve.

The app is free for download at the iTunes store and the Android Market.

Shortly after Santa's 10 a.m. arrival at the mall on Nov. 12, guests will be invited to join him for a special storytime, courtesy of the Douglas County Library.

Guests are also welcome to enjoy a Chick-fil-A breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Nov. 19. Kids ages 10 and under will eat for free with the purchase of an adult meal at the mall's Chick-fil-A restaurant. They will also get to spend time with Santa during this event.

Reading is SWEET! campaign ends Monday

ATLANTA -- October is both National Book Month and National Cookie Month, so why not combine the two into a sweet book drive?

The second annual Reading is SWEET! National Book Drive, sponsored by Great American Cookies, runs through Monday, Oct. 31.

Throughout the month, the stores collected new and gently used books to be donated to local charities and public libraries. Everyone who donated a book received a free cookie.

"Last year's Reading is SWEET! program was a huge success, thanks to the efforts of our store owners, customers and community partners," said Jenn Johnston, chief marketing & operations officer for GFG Management, which manages Great American Cookies. "We're excited to continue the event for 2011 and can't wait to see how many books we can collect and how many cookies we can give away."
