ATLANTA -- A Douglasville woman says the law of attraction helped her to win a Georgia Lottery prize worth nearly three-quarters of a million dollars. Melodia Harris, 32, won the $745,710 jackpot prize from matching all five winning numbers from the Oct. 1 Fantasy 5 drawing.

“I’ve been saying forever that I’m going to win. I used the law of attraction and visualization,” Harris explained. “I’m a huge believer in faith, visualization and law of attraction.”

Lottery representatives presented the lucky winner with an oversize check Wednesday at Hunter Park in Douglasville.

RaceTrac at 9294 Highway 5 in Douglasville sold the winning Quik Pik ticket.

Harris discovered her windfall while checking the results from the drawing on the Georgia Lottery’s website from her mobile phone.

“I was at Target in the parking lot, and something told me to check,” she recalled. “I didn’t even make it inside. I was screaming and in tears – happy tears.”

Married for 12 years, Harris and her husband, Cedric, have three children, ages 11, 10 and 6.

Harris is a data specialist for the American Red Cross.

“I’m going to pay off some bills,” she shared. “I’m going to put some aside for my children’s college fund and help family out as much as I can.”

Winning numbers from the Oct. 1 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 4-14-18-26-29.
