All You Can Eat Pancakes returns at IHOP

(WXIA) -- One of IHOP's tastiest promotions has returned for the new year.

All You Can Eat Pancakes is back at all IHOP restaurants through Sunday, Feb. 9.

"There are so many ways to enjoy our classic buttermilk pancakes. Now you can have your pancakes the way you always do ... and still be able to try a new way of adding butter or discovering a different syrup," IHOP senior vice president of marketing Natalia Franco said in a statement. "We know people love our pancakes, and as long as you can keep eating them, we'll keep serving them!"

During All You Can Eat Pancakes, guests who order pancakes as either an entree or a side item will keep receiving stacks of two until they "say when."

Pizza Hut offering 50% off online orders

Pizza Hut offering 50% off online orders

(WXIA) -- Twenty years ago, Pizza Hut delivered its first-ever pizza to be ordered over the Internet.

Now, the pizza chain is celebrating this milestone by offering a half-off online deal for customers.

Medium and large Pizza Hut pizzas will be 50 percent off when ordered online now through Jan. 10.

Pizza Hut has also launched Hut Lovers, a loyalty program that provides members with exclusive deals.

A large pepperoni, mushroom and extra cheese Pizza Hut pizza was the first physical good ever purchased online, according to Pizza Hut chief marketing officer Carrie Walsh.

"We want to celebrate the fact that before consumers could buy books, clothes, music or vacation packages via the Internet, they could place an online order for a Pizza Hut pizza," Walsh said in a statement. "We're doing so by giving back to our customers who have helped us lead the way with digital innovations over the last 20 years."

Yes, Santa, there IS a free lunch, in Douglasville

Yes, Santa, there IS a free lunch, in Douglasville

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- They say there's no such thing as a free lunch.

Well, that certainly wasn't the case at Douglas County's Bankhead Diner this Christmas Eve.

In fact, owner Jennifer Guy gave away hundreds of them, no questions asked.

After 15 years in business, she began her Christmas Eve lunch giveaway four years ago as a way to say thanks to her regular customers and to help those in need.

"Me and my son decided we'd do something for the county; we've been here and they've been with us, so we wanted to give something back," she told 11Alive News on Tuesday.

Hundreds showed up, some drove, some walked, some got free rides for a holiday lunch of turkey, ham and all the Christmas trimmings, for a visit with Santa and, if needed, for some free clothing and toys.

A small army of volunteers said it's often the best part of their Christmas.

The restaurant chain's popular Halloween dish includes one buttermilk pancake, a mouth made from whipped topping, a glazed strawberry nose, mini Oreo cookies for eyes and eight pieces of candy corn to be used as teeth.

Adults don't have to be left out of the Halloween fun; IHOP's famous pumpkin pancakes will also return to the menu in October.

Free pancakes at IHOP to help Children's Miracle Network Hospital

(WXIA) -- In an effort to raise $3 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and celebrate National Pancake Day, IHOP Restaurants will give out free pancakes to all guests on Tuesday, February 5.

This day will also mark the 30th anniversary of the Children's Miracle Network Hospital, as reported by a spokeswoman for IHOP.  National Pancake Day is recognized as IHOP's largest philanthropic event of the year, with more than 1,500 restaurants taking part. IHOP hopes that reaching the $3 million goal will be the ideal kick off to 2013 fundraising for the CMNH.

The spokeswoman said IHOP restaurants will give a complimentary stack of buttermilk pancakes to all guests from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. At the same time, they hope guests will make donations to CMNH. All proceeds will be put towards helping CMNH and other local charities to bring vital equipment, life-saving procedures and critical care to sick and injured children.
