Elana Meyers to visit Scottish Rite | People
ATLANTA -- Fresh off her silver medal win at the 2014 Winter Olympics, bobsledder Elana Meyers will visit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite next week.
The pride of Douglasville will stop by the Atlanta children's hospital on Monday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m.
Meyers and teammate Lauryn Williams placed second in women's bobsledding at this year's Olympics, missing the gold medal by only .10 seconds. Meyers is the first female U.S. bobsledder to win multiple Olympic medals; she received bronze at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Williams, meanwhile, is also a gold medal-winning track athlete; her Sochi medal makes her one of only five athletes to win medals at both winter and summer Olympics.
After returning home from Sochi, Meyers also plans to marry her boyfriend Nic Taylor.
