DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- Authorities say one person was killed in a wreck on Interstate 20 Friday morning.
The accident happened at about 6 a.m. at the eastbound Lee Road exit, when the Dodge Magnum driven by 21-year-old Marcus Adams of Jonesboro, Ark., left the roadway and struck a tree.
The Georgia State Patrol said the victim in the wreck -- a passenger in the car -- was a 22-year-old from Mississippi. That person's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives. Adams was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Downtown Atlanta for treatment.
Police have not yet said if there were others injured or if the weather played a role in the crash. It was raining in the area at the time.
