Douglasville takes steps toward solving pesky goose problem

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. – The City of Douglasville is advising their residents not to feed the Canada Geese that have been scaring visitors at Hunter Park.

The city released a resolution that included reasons not to feed the geese citing: poor nutrition, water pollution, overcrowding, spread of disease, birds may become more aggressive and that bread can cause a condition called “Angel Wing”.

The city is also taking measures to relocate the geese from Hunter Park including loud noises and a remote control boat that chases geese away.

The city also plans to take steps to eradicate the park of its goose problem by early next spring.
