Walker School student wins 2014 Water Essay Contest
MARIETTA, Ga. -- Emma Camp, a 7th grader at The Walker School in Cobb County has been named the District-wide winner in the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District 2014 Water Essay Contest. She received a $500 prize for her essay.
This is the 13th year MNGWPD has sponsored the annual Water Essay Contest. Over the years, the Water Essay Contest has engaged thousands of middle school students and challenged them to think critically about water and our region’s water resources. This year’s contest focused on the importance of water quality and water quantity. Students were asked to address the following statement, “Explain why water quantity (how much water we have) and water quality (how clean the water is) are equally important. Over 1,900 students from across the metropolitan area submitted essays.
