POWDER SPRINGS, GA -- For the very first time, Ballet North Performance Company will grace the stage with a production of The Nutcracker on Saturday, Dec. 18 and Sunday, Dec. 19 at the J. Alton Keith Theater at McEachern High School (2400 New Macland Road, Powder Springs, 30127).

Adults and children of all ages will enjoy this unique premiere of young performing artists and dancers from Paulding County, Douglasville, West Cobb and Metro Atlanta.

The Nutcracker, choreographed by Ballet North Performance Company director Christine Auchincloss Fehr, will go beyond the traditional satin pointe shoes and shimmery tutus.

ATLANTA -- Atlanta Momslikeme is currently running a "12 Days of Christmas" sweepstakes, where $2,000 worth of prizes will be given away!

Each contest begins at 10:00 a.m. and runs for 24 hours.

Christmas Concerts in the Courthouse -- a Douglas County Tradition

DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- For the 12th consecutive year, the Atrium of the Douglas County Courthouse (8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville, 30134) will be filled with the wonderful sounds of children singing during the holidays.

On weekdays between Tuesday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 17, groups from schools throughout Douglas County will perform on the Grand Staircase of the Courthouse Atrium. Their music will resound through the 165-foot high Atrium, filling the Courthouse with the sounds of the season.

The concerts are free and open to the public. Seating is available in the Atrium.

"We are pleased and proud to be able to present the talents of Douglas County youth for all of our citizens to see and enjoy," said chairman Tom Worthan. "It is wonderful to hear children's voices lifted in song, and their spirits lifted in celebration.

Jazz on the Green Concert Series Serenades Douglasville

DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- Green Audio presents live jazz under the evening sky at Founders Park in Douglasville every Sunday evening in September from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Bring a picnic, family and friends for this free concert series that began Sunday, September 5. The master of ceremonies for the series is improv comedian Swift from the BlackTop Circus, who is sure to keep the audience laughing between sets. (And yes, all jokes will be family-friendly.)

September 5: The Jazz on the Green series opened with Rodney Edge, an accomplished composer/musician with a knack for playing polished melodies while adding his own creative and interpretive harmonies.
