DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- As of Tuesday, Feb. 1, the new Community Center in Hunter Park (8830 Gurley Road, Douglasville, 30134) is open.

Classes at the brand new Community Center officially began last week.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, Karen Flagg leads a Zumba session from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and a yoga class from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per month.

An additional Zumba class, also taught by Karen, takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Children's art classes are held on Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. The sessions are open to children ages five to 13. Jennifer Roe leads the classes, which are $40 per month.

Those with line dancing experience who are interested in sharpening their skills can take an intermediate/advanced class with June Shuman on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The classes are $32 per month.

Adults who are new to line dancing may participate in beginners' sessions from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays; these classes are $28 per month.

The Hunter Park Community Center is currently looking for instructors for classes in arts & crafts, karate, children's activities, square dancing, ballet and more. To apply, call Hunter Park recreation coordinator Sheila Mason at 678-715-6055.
